Our platform connects music gear sellers with buyers worldwide. This page outlines the terms, fees, and policies that apply to selling on our marketplace.

Seller Eligibility
To sell on our platform, you must meet the following requirements:
- •Be at least 18 years of age
- •Have a valid bank account for receiving payouts
- •Complete identity verification through our payment processor (Stripe)
- •Provide accurate contact and shipping information
- •Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws
Fee Structure
Our fee structure is designed to be transparent and competitive:
🎉 Welcome Promotion
New sellers pay only a 1% marketplace fee for their first 30 days from their first sale, plus payment processing at cost (payment-processing costs vary by payment method).
Standard Platform Fee
After the promotional period: a 3% marketplace fee on each sale, plus payment processing at cost.
Power sellers ($5k+/mo) qualify for a reduced 2% marketplace fee, plus payment processing at cost.
Payment Processing
3.0% flat processing fee per transaction.
Unlike other marketplaces, Gearbox absorbs the extra $0.30 fixed transaction fee charged by Stripe. You only pay a flat 3%.

Payout Timing
We process payouts as quickly as possible while maintaining security for both buyers and sellers:
First Sale
Payout initiated exactly 2 days after delivery confirmation. This protects both you and the buyer while establishing your selling history.
Subsequent Sales
Payout initiated immediately when tracking shows your item is in-transit with valid tracking information. Much faster access to your funds!
Processing time: Payouts are typically processed within 1-2 business days
Bank transfer: Funds appear in your account 1-3 business days after processing (timing varies by bank)
Seller Responsibilities
As a seller on our platform, you agree to:
- •Accurate Listings: Provide truthful, complete descriptions and photos of items
- •Prompt Shipping: Ship items within 2 business days of receiving payment
- •Tracking Required: Provide valid tracking numbers for all shipments
- •Secure Packaging: Pack items properly to prevent damage during shipping
- •Professional Communication: Respond to buyer inquiries within 24 hours
- •Dispute Resolution: Work in good faith to resolve any issues with buyers
- •Prohibited Items: Do not list counterfeit, stolen, or illegal items
Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
When a buyer files a chargeback with their credit card company, the funds are immediately withdrawn by the bank. Here is our policy on handling these disputes:
Seller Protection Eligibility
If you shipped the item to the address provided at checkout, used a valid tracking number that shows "Delivered", and accurately described the item, you are fully protected. We will cover the chargeback amount and any associated bank fees.
When You Are Responsible
You are financially responsible for the chargeback and any bank fees (typically $15) if:
- You shipped to an address different from the one provided at checkout.
- You cannot provide valid tracking showing delivery.
- The item was significantly not as described and you refused a return.
The Dispute Process
If a chargeback is filed, we will immediately contact you to request evidence (tracking, photos, messaging history). We will submit this evidence to the bank on your behalf. Bank decisions are final and can take up to 90 days.
Account Standing
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate seller accounts that:
- •Repeatedly fail to ship items or provide tracking
- •Receive excessive disputes or negative reviews
- •Engage in fraudulent or deceptive practices
- •Violate our terms of service or community guidelines
We aim to maintain a trustworthy marketplace for all users. Maintaining good seller practices helps protect your account standing and builds buyer confidence.
Modifications to Terms
We may update these seller terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or platform notifications. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
