How long does it take to get paid?
Quick Answer
If you've sold previously, your funds are released from escrow as soon as the carrier confirms the item is in transit. If it's your first sale or local pickup, funds are released 2 business days after the item is delivered (or marked as received).
Once released from escrow, it typically takes 1-3 business days for the payment to appear in your connected bank account.
The Payout Timeline
Item sold and order created
Status: Escrow Secured
The buyer's payment is captured and secured in escrow. For your protection, we verify the buyer's information before clearing the item for shipment.
Ship within 3 business days
Status: Pending Shipment
Pack your gear securely and ship it using a tracked service. Provide the tracking number in your dashboard (or use Gearbox labels for automatic tracking).
In transit or Delivered
Timing: Carrier dependent
Gearbox uses the tracking information to determine when the item is in-transit or delivered to the buyer. For local pickup, the buyer must "Mark as Received".
Funds released from Escrow
Timing: Immediate (experienced sellers) or 2 days post-delivery (first sale)
The escrow lock is lifted and the payment is queued to be sent to your connected bank account.
Payment sent to your bank
Timing: 1-3 business days
It typically takes 1-3 business days for the payment to appear in your account, depending on your bank's processing times.
Return and Refund Policy
Buyers have 14 days from delivery to request a refund. Items must be in original condition.
Buyer Protection
All purchases are covered by Gearbox Protection. If your item does not arrive or does not match the description, you are fully refunded.
