Gearbox Marketplace was founded with a simple mission: to make buying and selling music gear fairer, safer, and more affordable for everyone.
Our Story
We started Gearbox Marketplace because we were tired of losing huge chunks of our gear sales to exorbitant marketplace fees. As active gigging musicians, we cycle through guitars, pedals, and amps constantly. When platform fees jumped to 8% or more, we realized the community needed a better alternative.
By keeping our overhead low and focusing on secure transactions, useful search, and community trust, we're able to offer a 1% marketplace fee plus payment processing at cost for new sellers. Our goal is to put money back into the hands of the creators and artists who actually make the music.
